RIFT Cleric PVP Video: Volume 7: Stayin’ Alive in Patch 1.5

This HD video is narrated PVP footage of my “M*A*S*H” Justicar/Shaman/Warden Cleric melee healing spec in Patch 1.5, from a Codex warfront.

This is my 3rd video for M*A*S*H at level 50, and I talk about how I’ve dealt with the conditions in Patch 1.5 as a Healer.

I’m curious to hear how other healers are dealing with 1.5, so please share your experience and thoughts.

If you are looking for information on how to kite / strafe, check out my Guide on Strafing / Kiting and let me know if you have any questions.

I have written a Guide about the M*A*S*H spec, so check that out if you want to see the spec link, strengths and weaknesses, GCD rotations, macros, and other information. I have also posted a thread about my spec on the RIFT forum, and players who’ve tried it have raved about it.

Solid video Tau, i´m also still running the same build, i do play alot more in MoL now this days, atleast when i got a rouge+something more focusing me.
Can´t really say i´v changed that much.
What i always do thou, is either team up with a War or another healer, put my R.Mandate on them and tell them about it, it usually ends up with then guarding my back either by heals or just simply chopping Rouges away.
This is really crusial as most non cleric players don´t have a clue what R.Mandate do or how MASH clerics work.
(Short of time, work, but the Epiq Major Essence you can buy in IPP that shields is really awsome in BG´s, sorry about not having time to link/post name)

so taugrim from now on u will never again take time to update ur warrior guide- providing us with a new spec its strength and its weakness, the enchants that go with it and also advise us how to build our planar attunement feature?

If at some point I can faction transfer, I’ll play my Warrior again.

I only want to play in one guild on one faction on one server, and I can’t do that. If I can’t do that, I won’t have enough hands-on time to evaluate Warrior.

I’m at R5, I have been using cleansing waters a LOT, and circling. Been able to survive against 2 rogues +, but it’s nasty. It appears their healing debuffs stack?? Have you noticed that? That’s when I started spamming cleansing waters to remove all of them. Seemed to be able to stay up a lot longer.

I’ve also moved my convictions “display” to middle of screen, so I know when I have one available.

AFAIK, healing debuffs do not stack. That would create un-healable situations.

Good video Taugrim. Came across you last night in a WF and it was a good match. Im not sure if it was you or another player who purged my fell blades, but quickly saw it and put it back up.

I’ve been playing a Rogue (P4) and a Cleric (P5) as my mains, but a big part of what I am trying to do is learn counters for each classes.

With my Cleric, if I run up against any high geared Rogues (p5+), I dont last long.
But Rogues my same level or lower, I can handle fairly easy.

I dont find healing a issue with Clerics at the moment. Lately, I have been playing around with the Sentinel, Warden and Templar souls for a pure healing role.
I spec into Sentinel to get Empowering light. I find this incredibly useful, especially in hectic WF’s. With the amount of fell blades, Vamp munitions going on, the cool down is only 10 sec, so between casting heals, I throw this down when it is off CD. So far, it as worked very well. Keeps my teammates alive while stopping the healing on those pesky rogues. ;)

I am finding Nysyr’s Brand invaluable in open world pvp, especially when soloing. If I get stun locked by a rogue, I use break free and cast a few HoT’s. I tend to draw them in a bit, blast them with some waterjets and other abilities. When their health starts to dip and I know they are doing to slip away, I put on Nysyr’s Brand. It is pretty entertaining when you put this on them and then watch them try and slip away. At that point, I usually end up burning them down.

I dont think Rogues are OP personally. Their up front damage has been increased, which was much needed. But a smart player knows how to counter a rogue.

IMHO, if anything is OP, I would so Mages are. Good Lord. Try killing a P8 Chloro/Lock solo. Not going to happen. I saw 5 people beat on a fully geared P8 Chloro lock for a good minute before he went down.
    Rambling. Done now.
    Just my two cents.

dude just cause u are a p5 cleric who plays healing spell and as expected u can take in loads of dmg and withstand for quite some time, that doesnt mean that rogues aint op nowadays rofl! Any healer in this spec can stand alive vs a similar geared-ranked rouge and end up finishing it as u get to remove his self heals which a warrior or a mage or another rogue i think doesnt and u get to make him unable of slipping away lol. I never seen a warrior or a mage preventing a rogue from slipping away or even another rogue^ Thats just cleric opiness dude^ But i am telling u this an equal geared and ranked mm will burn ur cleric down before u even get to see whos hitting u and where from^ A good melee fighting rogue shall finish u fast and easy if he knows what he is doing- if a melee fighting rogue doesnt for example stack up impale on u then he prolly sucksxD After he stacks u with impale he has some melee finishers which can crit u for 2k or something:D impale can easily take away 1k hp from u for fun- so if a rogue starts on u from hide lets no forget he gets that advantage allowing him to hit u harder and even if u do break his stun he has 1 more stun which he can cast on u so if he does that u dont manage to put ur hots up^ then he can easily take away 2k of ur hp and stack u impale too and then go on finishing u before u even manage to fully heal up^ So just because u personally took out 1 melee fighting rogue dont write crap that rogues aint op dude cause they are pretty op but even now noobs will be noobs ^ Good rogue players can imo finish anything in no time^
